a Retreat to Nature for
the Creative Mind

Inter-generational

Inter-generational

Inter-generational
Truly a mouthful to say, but what better way to spend your day than sharing an interactive workshop with family members older or younger than yourself. This intergenerational specific page was the suggestion of a mother attending a program with her school age daughters, 'it would be much easier to have the programs that young people can attend with an adult listed in one location...' And so, we listened and we hope you find this helpful when looking for that special program to share, that fits the needs/interests of your extended family members. We have enjoyed the company of mothers and adult daughters, mothers and young daughters, grandmothers with daughters and granddaughters, as well as sisters and cousins in various combinations.
Guess we need to work on the male population.

Paper Pooch Wire Form

Paper Pooch Example

Paper and Wire Pooch Project Steve Wirtz

This workshop involves creating a papier mache sculpture by pasting layers of paper over a pre-made wire frame. The basic steps involve pasting strips of different papers over the wire, including the use of colored papers to create the final layer and giving the pooch its coloration.   Steve is around to assist and help create some of the details like nose and eyes. Paper and Wire Pooch Project is fun and fairly easy, but participants have to be prepared to get their hands messy. The paste used in the workshop is non toxic and non-staining.  Since the wire forms are pre-made, the participants are guaranteed a successful sculpture, yet have an opportunity to be creative and express themselves with this fun art project.

Sat June 19  1 - 4:30   $55/materials included (child helper $10 additional)
