Box Making: Clam Shell Box / Drop Spine Box  Jackie Hefty

Based on using a conventional size of 8 1/2 x 11", we will create a housing for papers, books and treasures. Adjustments for various sizes will be discussed for individualized future projects. A good metal ruler, a sharp utility knife, a cutting matt and a clear head will be most important.  Participants will have the opportunity to customize the covers with commercially available materials or personalized, hand decorated options.    Fri  Dec 4 & 11   1- 4:30   $125

Savoring the Seasons
Attending to the Artist Within
Christa Bruhn, PhD

Cultivating our creativity as artists is as much about practicing our craft as caring for the vessel through which we bring forth our mindful masterpieces. Treat yourself to this four-part culinary artist series that follows the seasons to provide food for thought to inspire the human spirit. You will have the opportunity to deepen your connection to the natural world by engaging your senses in the sacred ritual of growing, preparing and feasting on wholesome food prepared in community.

Part IV -  Winter

Ritual: Looking Within for Hope and Inspiration

Food: Soups & Sweets to Warm the Soul

Christa/webChrista24.jpg

Only the pure in heart can make a good soup.

- Ludwig van Beethoven

As the Earth returns to its dormant state, we have the opportunity to look inward for hope and inspiration as the dark winter months encourage us all to pause and reflect on how far we have come in our creative journey and what the return of light will awaken within each of us. To nurture this quiet reflective period, join in on the meditative process of creating wholesome soups for nourishing one-pot meals that warm the soul and open space to look back, be present, and become strong and centered to move forward. Nutritious sweets will also be on the menu to carry us over until spring.

Sat, Dec 12  4 -8 pm  $85  One does not need to register for all 4 classes, but we think you may want to . . . additional dates are: Sat March 21 noon - 4 p.m., Sat June 27  1- 7 p.m., and Sat Sept 26  4 - 8 p.m.
