DRAW,
PRINT, SMILE ! Pronto Plate Lithography with Barry Carlsen
Explore the artist-friendly
process of polyester plate lithography. Simply draw and paint on the provided printing plate with materials
available, apply ink and print. Go home with a small edition. No processing. It's that easy! All materials supplied just bring
an idea. Eliminating the chemicals, processing time, costs, and technical difficulties associated with traditional
lithographic or intaglio printing. Beginning with some history of lithography and a short series of technical demonstrations,
followed by the majority of time involved in creating a small black and white artist's edition. (A follow up workshop, Creative
Monoprints, Sat. Sept. 15, can be combined/utilized to add color to the edition by monoprinting,
combining additional color plates and/or hand-coloring techniques.) No past printmaking experience is necessary.
Materials and technical handouts will be provided. Students should come prepared with some ideas to pursue. Class size is limited, register early. Fri

Creative
Monoprinting Barry Roal Carlsen
Another artist-friendly process, Creative Monoprinting! Use
brushes, brayers, stencils and a printing press to create colorful unique artworks! Explore manipulating inks/paint
on the provided printing plate, drawing, painting, adding, subtracting, and print. You may combine additional color plates
and/or hand-coloring techniques as desired. It's that easy! Included will be demonstrations, followed by
the majority of time involved in creating your unique prints. (The preceeding workshop, Pronto Plate
Litho, Fri. Sept. 14, can provide you with an edition of your black/white images that
you may add color to by monoprinting processes.) No past printmaking experience is necessary. All materials
supplied just bring your ideas. Students should come prepared with some ideas to pursue. Class size is limited, register early.
