What Lies Beneath by Kay Brathol-Hostvet
Experimental Acrylic Kay Brathol-Hostvet An intense, thought-provoking workshop experience! This three-day workshop will focus on the
application of acrylic paint in creating non-representational works based on technical experimentation, emotional and cerebral
responses to design and color exercises, journaling, music interpretation and group discussions. Acrylic is a wonderful
painting medium for experimentation because it dries quickly allowing a buildup of multiple layers, or drastic changes.
Throughout this process you will be creating an expressive, non-representational or abstract painting, as well as exploring
your own personality, motivation, and creativity. Students have called this workshop "life changing."
Painting experience in any medium is helpful; various warm-up exercises will familiarize you with the properties of acrylic
paint and basic elements of design. Some materials provided; see supply list for required materials. Fri/Sat/Sun Nov 5, 6, 7,
9 - 4 Fri/Sat, 10 - 4 Sun $235/$7

Red Trillium - C. Quinn
Think of this as your ‘little
get away' before the rush of the holiday season...
Watercolor Painting: Mixing Greens
Cynthia Quinn Take the mystery out of mixing greens found in nature and landscapes. Cynthia will discuss mixing
greens from scratch, using convenience tube greens and their properties, and how to make any green desired. We'll make
charts you can use for future reference in the morning with provided pigments, and then paint from your photo reference or
a special greens still life in the afternoon. This
class is suitable for a beginner all the way to an experienced painter, who like many, has never covered this information
in a specific way. Bring a round, watercolor brush, size 6-8 (Winsor Newton Sceptre is a good brand, and not too expensive),
a white plastic palette to mix paint on (a Robert Wood 12 x 16" palette would be a good size), you will also need a pencil, kneaded eraser, drafting tape or painters tape and
paper towels. Wed Nov 10 10 - 4:30 $100/$35

Paste Papers Sampler
WW Mini Paste Papers Jackie Hefty Enjoy this fun decorative paper technique as you create
unique designs. Sometimes referred to as 'adult finger painting', you will find it just that liberating. Children would find
this engaging as well, but we're keeping this much fun for just the adults this time. You can enjoy doing this at home with
them another time.

WHEELS of
Time and Place: journals for the cycles and seasons of life Trees as Teachers Anne Forbes Engage mindfully and playfully with seasons and cycles during the transition from fall to winter.
With trees as our teaches and allies, we'll spend the day exploring what home place means to us and practice skills that deepen
our connection to the natural world. There will be plenty of time to begin your own circular journal, or Wheel, to take home
and track what you notice and learn over the coming months. Like a wheel on a cart, time turns around the hub of your home place; the metaphor is a journey taken
through a day, a month, a year, or a lifetime of curiosity and appreciation. Three Fold Wisdom of the Tree by Lunaea Weatherstone Leaf-wisdom of change, ever releasing Branch-wisdom of growth, ever reaching Root-wisdom of endurance, ever deepening Fri, Nov 12, 9 - 4:30 p.m. $90/$35 materials, includes your own Wheels of Time and Place packet Each participant will need a Wheels
of Time and Place packet for the workshop. If you have already purchased (or been gifted) a packet, you will not need to
pay the full materials fee (only need to pay $5). See www.partnersinplace.com to learn more about Anne and the Wheels

Paper Pooch Wire Form
Paper & Wire Pet-tacular Steve Wirtz
He's coming back...Don't miss
out...more fun than a barrel of monkeys...hey monkeys, we need monkeys Steve! Terrific gift ideas - sure to bring a smile and maybe a chuckle or two!
This workshop involves creating a papier mache sculpture
by pasting layers of paper over a pre-made wire frame. The basic steps involve pasting strips of different papers over the
wire, including the use of colored papers to create the final layer and giving the pooch its coloration. Steve
is around to assist and help create some of the details like nose and eyes. Paper and Wire Pooch Project is fun and fairly
easy, but participants have to be prepared to get their hands messy. The paste used in the workshop is non toxic and non-staining.
Since the wire forms are pre-made, the participants are guaranteed a successful sculpture, yet have an opportunity to
be creative and express themselves with this fun art project. And yes, Steve will have wire for those more experienced artists
who may want to try one from scratch!!!. Sat
Nov 20 9:30 - 12:30 $55 or 1 - 4 $55 (child helper for either 3 hour session $10) or 9:30 - 4 $105 (for
the truly industrious ...)
